# Why is my Apple subscription linked to another ZeroTwo account?

> An Apple subscription bought in the ZeroTwo iPhone app belongs to one ZeroTwo account only. Here is how to find that account and use your plan.

When you subscribe in the ZeroTwo iPhone or iPad app with the **Apple** payment option, the purchase is attached to the ZeroTwo account you were signed in to when the app confirmed it. One Apple subscription can belong to only one ZeroTwo account. If a second account tries to claim the same subscription, ZeroTwo's server refuses the claim with the error text "Apple subscription belongs to another account" and does not save the plan to the second account.

## Why it happens

The iPhone app confirms an Apple purchase with ZeroTwo's server when you buy, and again when the App Store reports an update to a transaction. The first confirmation ties the subscription to the account that sent it, and a later confirmation from a different account is refused. That can happen when you are signed in to a different account from the one you used when you bought the plan, for example one created with another email address or phone number. A new address or number opens a new account, so a second account can exist without you noticing.

## Get your plan back

1. Work out which account you used when you subscribed: the email address, the phone number, or the Google, Apple or Microsoft account you signed in with.
2. Open the account menu and choose **Log out**, then sign in again with that sign-in method.
3. Open **Settings** and go to **Billing**. The plan name is shown at the top, with the note "Billing for this plan is managed through the App Store." If Billing shows **ZeroTwo Free** instead, the plan is not on that account.

The plan is stored on the account, so once you are in the right one it also shows on the web, in the desktop app and on Android. See [Can I use my ZeroTwo plan on another device?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/8980438-can-i-use-my-zerotwo-plan-on-another-device).

## Managing or ending an Apple subscription

ZeroTwo does not bill Apple subscriptions, so Billing has no card to edit and no **Cancel plan** section for them. In the iPhone and iPad app, the **Manage plan** button under **Settings > Usage** opens Apple's subscriptions page (apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions).

A plan bought with the **Card** option in the same pricing sheet is processed by Stripe instead of Apple, so it is not tied to an Apple purchase.

## If you cannot reach the account that owns it

ZeroTwo has no screen or setting that moves an Apple subscription from one account to another. From an account you can sign in to, open the Help menu (the question-mark button), choose **Help**, then **Support**, and explain what happened. You can also write to the address on ZeroTwo's Terms page, [reed@zerotwo.ai](mailto:reed@zerotwo.ai).
