Most connector problems come down to five things: the connection has expired, the connector is switched off, ZeroTwo answered a Chat message without using it, one of its tools is blocked, or its tool list needs a refresh. Work through the checks below in order.

## 1. Check the connection

1. Open **Customize** in the rail and select **Connectors**. Services you have connected are listed under **Installed**. A connector that needs attention shows a warning triangle on its icon.
2. Select the connector. If it shows **Connection issue**, its session has expired or failed. The page says "Your session has expired. You can reconnect to re-authorize." or shows the specific error. Select **Connect** and finish the sign-in. For a custom MCP server you added yourself, this button reads **Edit** instead and opens the server's settings.
3. Select the **Refresh** button at the top of the page to re-read each connection's status, then look again.

A plugin's page lists its connectors the same way. A connector there shows a button reading **Connected** or **Needs attention**; open it and choose **Reconnect**.

## 2. Answer a reconnect prompt in chat

When ZeroTwo needs a connector for a request, a card appears in the chat. It reads "Connect (name) so ZeroTwo can use it for this request," or, for an expired connection, "Your (name) connection needs to be reconnected before ZeroTwo can use it for this request." Choose **Connect** or **Reconnect** and finish the sign-in, or choose **Not now** to skip it; the card then shows "Skipped".

If you switch a connector on and its sign-in has lapsed, you get a message reading "(name) needs to be reconnected" with a **Reconnect** button.

## 3. Fix a sign-in window that does not finish

- On the web, allow pop-ups for ZeroTwo and keep the sign-in window open until it finishes. If it times out, ZeroTwo says "OAuth connection timed out" and reminds you to allow pop-ups for the site. In the desktop app the sign-in opens in your system browser instead and returns you to ZeroTwo when it is done.
- If you close the window, you see "(name) connection was cancelled" or "Connection canceled. You can try again or choose Not now." Start the connection again.
- As a last resort, open the connector, select **More options** (the three dots), choose **Disconnect**, then connect it again.

## 4. Make sure the connector is switched on and in use

A connected connector can be switched off. It stays connected, but its tools are no longer offered to the model. To check, open Settings > Plugins (the **Settings** button at the top of any Customize page opens it), select the **Connectors** tab and look at the switch on the connector's row. A connector that needs attention shows "Needs attention" there instead of a switch, so reconnect it first.

Which mode you are in also matters:

- **In Chat**, ZeroTwo decides from your message whether it needs tools. If it answers without using the connector, mention the connector with @ followed by its name, for example `@Slack`. A message with an @ mention is handled as a run that can use tools.
- **In Work**, ZeroTwo can use the connectors you have connected and switched on without you naming them.

## 5. Refresh the tool list

Open the connector, select **More options** and choose **Refresh tools**. ZeroTwo confirms with "Tools refreshed" or reports "Failed to refresh tools". A connector page that says "No tools available for this connector." has nothing to offer until a refresh finds tools.

## 6. Check tool permissions

A connected connector's page has a **Tool permissions** section: "Choose when the agent is allowed to use these tools." Its tools are grouped as **Read-only tools** and **Write/delete tools**. Each tool, or a whole group, is set to one of three options:

- **Always allow**: ZeroTwo can use the tool freely.
- **Needs approval**: ZeroTwo pauses and asks before using the tool.
- **Blocked**: the tool is hidden from the model everywhere.

If ZeroTwo behaves as if it cannot do something the connector supports, look for a blocked tool.

## 7. Pick the right Google account

For Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts, the connector page has a **Connected accounts** section that lists each account. Use **Reconnect** or **Disconnect** on an account, or **Connect another account**.

## Plugin problems

- **Install is unavailable.** The plugin is limited to the desktop app. On the web its Install button is disabled, and the tooltip reads "Not available on this platform". If an install fails for another reason, ZeroTwo shows "Could not install" followed by the reason.
- **A plugin is missing from the + menu.** It must be installed, switched on and available in the app you are using; plugins limited to the desktop app are not listed on the web. If the plugin's page shows **Enable**, select it.
- **A desktop plugin's local server will not run.** In the desktop app, the plugin's page lists its MCP servers marked "Desktop only", each with a status such as Running, Stopped or Error. Select the server to open its page; if it failed, its last error appears in red at the top. The **More options** menu there has **Refresh tools** and **Disable**.

## Still stuck?

Select the question-mark button in the sidebar footer ("Help and what's new"), choose **Help**, then **Support**, and describe the connector, what you tried and any message you saw. The dialog is titled "Send Feedback" and opens with Help selected.
