A plugin marketplace is a Git repository or local folder that lists plugins. In the ZeroTwo desktop app you can add one, browse its plugins in Customize and install them. Marketplaces belong to the copy of ZeroTwo on your computer, and they do not refresh by themselves: you upgrade them manually.

## Before you start

- **Desktop app only.** The **Add a marketplace** option appears only in the desktop app.
- **A supported catalog file.** The repository or folder must contain one of the catalog files listed below.
- **An allowed Git host.** By default ZeroTwo accepts github.com, gitlab.com and bitbucket.org. Local folders have no host restriction.

## Add a marketplace

1. Open **Customize** or **Settings > Plugins** and select **Add**, then **Add a marketplace**.
2. In the dialog "Add plugin marketplace", fill in **Source**. You can enter:
  - a GitHub repository as `owner/name`,
  - a Git address, such as an SSH address (`git@host:org/repo.git`) or an `https://` URL, or
  - the path to a folder on your computer.
3. Optionally set **Git ref** to a branch, tag or commit. Leave it blank to use the repository's default. In **Sparse paths**, list one path per line if you only want those parts of the repository fetched. Both fields apply to Git sources only.
4. Select **Add marketplace**.

ZeroTwo fetches a snapshot of the source and stores it on your computer, inside your home folder under `.zerotwo/plugins/marketplaces`.

### What ZeroTwo rejects

- URLs that contain credentials: "Credential-bearing URLs are not supported. Configure a Git credential helper instead."
- A direct link to a `marketplace.json` file. Add the repository that contains it.
- A Git host outside the allowed list: "Marketplace Git host is not managed or allowed."
- A local folder with symbolic links, more than 5,000 files, or more than 50 MB.
- A marketplace whose name is already registered by a different source.

## Catalog files ZeroTwo looks for

ZeroTwo uses the first of these files that it finds:

- `.agents/plugins/marketplace.json`
- `.agents/plugins/api_marketplace.json`
- `.claude-plugin/marketplace.json`
- `.cursor-plugin/marketplace.json`

A repository with only a `.cursor-plugin/plugin.json` is treated as a marketplace with a single plugin. The catalog needs a name and a `plugins` list. Each plugin needs a name and a source: a path inside the repository, an npm package, or a Git repository with an optional subfolder. Duplicate plugin names are rejected.

## Install plugins from it

Plugins from your marketplace appear in **Customize > Plugins** with the marketplace's source shown on the card. Select **Install** as you would for any other plugin.

## Upgrade a marketplace

Once you have added a marketplace, **Settings > Plugins** gets a **Marketplaces** tab. Each row shows the marketplace's name, how many plugins it lists and where it came from.

1. Open **Settings > Plugins > Marketplaces**.
2. Select **Upgrade** on the marketplace you want to refresh.

ZeroTwo fetches the source again at the same Git ref and swaps in the new snapshot. If the catalog now identifies itself differently from when you added it, the upgrade fails with "Marketplace identity changed during upgrade." Nothing upgrades on a schedule, so a marketplace stays as it was until you press Upgrade.

## Remove a marketplace

In the Marketplaces tab, select the trash icon at the end of the marketplace's row. The marketplace is no longer listed.
