ZeroTwo stores your account details and the content you create so it can run your chats, and it sends the relevant parts of a conversation to the AI provider behind the model you choose. The Privacy Policy states that ZeroTwo does not sell your personal information. This article summarizes the [ZeroTwo Privacy Policy](https://zerotwo.ai/privacy); read the policy itself for its exact wording.

## What does ZeroTwo collect?

It depends on how you use ZeroTwo. The policy groups the information like this:

- **Account and profile details**, such as your name, email address, username, avatar, company or team details, billing address and account preferences.
- **Sign-in and security data**, such as login credentials, single sign-on details and security verification data.
- **Payment and subscription information.** Purchases are handled by payment providers such as Stripe. ZeroTwo typically receives transaction details, billing status and limited payment identifiers rather than full card numbers.
- **Messages to support** and answers to surveys.
- **Content you create or upload**: prompts, chat messages, assistant replies, project instructions, notes, files, documents, images, audio and video.
- **Data from apps you connect.** If you connect a service such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, GitHub, Linear or Notion, ZeroTwo may access the content and details it needs to carry out the actions you ask for.
- **Technical data collected automatically**: IP address, timestamps, pages viewed, features used, crash data, browser and device details, and cookie or local storage data. ZeroTwo may also infer an approximate location from your IP address for security, fraud prevention and regional settings.

## Who receives my data?

ZeroTwo shares information only as needed to operate the service, carry out your requests or meet legal obligations. The policy lists these recipients:

- **AI providers you use.** Depending on the model or feature, what is sent can include your prompts, the assistant's replies, attachments, images, retrieved file snippets, project instructions, and profile or memory context you have enabled. Most providers only process this content to return a response, but some may keep or use it under their own policies. See [Does ZeroTwo use my chats to train AI models?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/5722486-does-zerotwo-use-my-chats-to-train-ai-models)
- **Hosting and service providers** for databases, sign-in, storage, security, customer support and communications.
- **Payment processors**, such as Stripe, for purchases and billing.
- **Analytics and infrastructure vendors**, such as Google services, that help measure usage, performance and security.
- **Services you connect**, when sharing is needed to fetch data or perform an action you requested.
- **Authorities and successors.** Law enforcement, regulators or courts where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or the service, and a buyer or successor if ZeroTwo is involved in a merger, financing or sale of assets.

## How long does ZeroTwo keep my data?

The policy says ZeroTwo keeps content you store in it until you delete it or your workspace is deleted, and may keep it longer where retention is otherwise required for security, fraud prevention, backups or legal compliance. Account, billing and support records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for business, security, tax, accounting and legal needs.

If you delete your account or ask ZeroTwo to delete your data, the policy says ZeroTwo will delete or anonymize personal information from its active systems when reasonably practicable, unless it must keep something for legal, security, fraud-prevention or backup reasons. Backup copies can persist for a limited time before they are overwritten. ZeroTwo and its service providers may store or process information in the United States and other countries.

## What controls do I have in the app?

On the web and desktop app, select your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open the account menu, then choose **Settings**. These are the places that change what ZeroTwo holds about you. Connected apps are the exception: you manage them from **Customize**, not from Settings.

| Control | Where | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Memory | **Personalization** > **Memory** | The **Memory** switch decides whether ZeroTwo uses your saved memories and past chats in every conversation and, on paid plans, learns from your chats. When it is off, nothing is used or learned, and nothing is deleted. |
| Manage memories | **Personalization** > **Memory** | Lets you see what ZeroTwo knows about you, correct it or delete it. **Delete and turn off memory** deletes all of it and keeps your chats. |
| Export data | **Data Controls** | Downloads a JSON file with your account details and chats. See [How to export your ZeroTwo chats](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/7260999-how-to-export-your-zerotwo-chats). |
| Archived chats, Delete all chats, Clear all data, Shared Links | **Data Controls** | Restore or permanently delete archived chats, delete every chat, delete everything including assistants, projects, files and scheduled tasks, or manage and delete the links you have shared. See [Manage your chats and account data in Data Controls](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/7730893-manage-your-chats-and-account-data-in-data-controls). |
| Delete account | **Data Controls** | Permanently deletes your account and its data. See [How do I delete my ZeroTwo account?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/6378407-how-do-i-delete-my-zerotwo-account) |
| Connected apps | **Customize** > **Connectors** | Disconnect an app so ZeroTwo no longer reaches it. See [Connect, reconnect and disconnect app accounts](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/20001494-connect-reconnect-and-disconnect-app-accounts). |

On iOS and Android, open **Settings** > **Data controls** for export, archived chats, deleting chats, clearing all data, shared links and deleting your account. Their **Personalization** settings have a **Memory** tab with their own memory switches.

## How do I make a privacy request?

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal information, or to withdraw consent for certain processing. The policy says you can use the settings above or email [reed@zerotwo.ai](mailto:reed@zerotwo.ai). ZeroTwo may need to verify your identity before it completes some requests.
