# Why does ZeroTwo say I've been blocked?

> What "Blocked before reaching ZeroTwo", a Cloudflare "Sorry, you have been blocked" page and the sign-in warnings mean, and what to try next.

Several different checks can show a "blocked" or "try again later" message. Some run in front of ZeroTwo, in Cloudflare, and some run on ZeroTwo's own sign-in page and servers. The table shows each message, where you see it and what to try. For a blocked chat request, try the same action again first: the message itself says retrying usually works.

## Messages and what they mean

| Message | Where you see it | What it means | What to try |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| "Blocked before reaching ZeroTwo (edge 1020 · ray …). Retrying usually works." | In a chat or agent run on the web or desktop app | Something in front of ZeroTwo's servers (Cloudflare) answered instead of ZeroTwo, so the reply did not come from ZeroTwo itself. | Send the message again. If it repeats, send the full message, including the code and ray, to Support. |
| A Cloudflare page reading "Sorry, you have been blocked" | In your browser, in place of ZeroTwo | One of Cloudflare's firewall rules stopped the request, so the page is Cloudflare's and not ZeroTwo's. Cloudflare is the network security service that sits in front of ZeroTwo's traffic. | Reload after a minute and note any code or reference number shown on the page. If it keeps happening, send those details to Support. |
| "Unusual activity detected. Please use email login with CAPTCHA verification." | The sign-in page, after you choose Google, Apple or Microsoft | ZeroTwo's own page check judged the browser to look automated. | Use email login and complete the CAPTCHA, or sign in from a regular browser window with no automation tools. |
| "Please sign up with a permanent email address." | When you ask for an emailed sign-in link | The domain of that address is on ZeroTwo's list of blocked sign-up domains, which is aimed at disposable-email services. | Use your regular personal or work address. |
| "Too many magic link requests. Please try again later." | When you ask for another emailed link | ZeroTwo limits how many links can be requested from one network, and for one address, within a period of time. | Wait before asking again, use a link you already received if it is under an hour old, or choose another sign-in method. |

## The numbers in the first message

"Edge" is followed by a Cloudflare error code, and "ray" by a reference for that single request. ZeroTwo shows each one only when it could read it. The code hints at which kind of rule fired: 1015 points to a request-rate limit, 1020 to a firewall rule, and 1010 to the browser or app identification. You do not need to fix either number. They are the support reference the ZeroTwo team uses to find the request.

## If it keeps happening

Send the full message, including the code and ray, through **Help > Support** in the app. [How do I contact ZeroTwo support?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/6614161-how-do-i-contact-zerotwo-support) has the details, including what to do if you cannot open the app. For the other prompts you may meet at sign-in, see [Why does ZeroTwo ask me to verify when I sign in?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/9889414-why-does-zerotwo-ask-me-to-verify-when-i-sign-in)
