You can delete a chat from the sidebar or from the chat itself. Deleting is permanent: ZeroTwo's confirmation says the conversation cannot be undone. If you only want a chat out of your list, archive it instead and restore it whenever you like.

## Delete a chat from the sidebar

1. Open the sidebar and find the chat under **Recents** or **Pinned**.
2. Press and hold the chat's row to open its menu.
3. Choose **Delete**.
4. In the "Delete chat?" dialog, tap **Delete**. The dialog reads "This will permanently delete this conversation and cannot be undone." Tap **Cancel** to keep the chat.

If the deletion fails, ZeroTwo briefly shows "Couldn't delete chat". Try again in a moment.

## Delete the chat you have open

1. Tap the three-dot button at the top right of the chat.
2. Choose **Delete**, then confirm in the same "Delete chat?" dialog.

ZeroTwo then opens a new chat.

## Archive instead of deleting

Choose **Archive** in either menu to take a chat out of your list but keep it. A small notice appears with **View** and **Undo**. Later, open **Settings** > **Data controls** and tap **Manage** on the Archived chats row. There you can:

- Tap **Restore** to put a chat back in your list.
- Tap the trash button to delete it permanently. The dialog titled "Permanently delete this chat?" explains that it deletes the chat and all of its messages and cannot be undone. Tap **Delete permanently** to confirm.

## Delete every chat at once

1. Tap your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Settings**.
2. Open **Data controls** and tap **Delete all chats**.
3. In the "Delete All Chats" dialog, tap **Delete**.

This removes only your conversations. The dialog says your projects, files and other data remain. **Clear all data**, just below it, goes further and also removes assistants, projects, files, schedules and integrations, so read its dialog before you confirm.
