ZeroTwo can help you prepare the materials around assessment, but it should not decide a grade. ZeroTwo's Terms prohibit using its output concerning a person in any context that could materially or legally affect that individual, and they name education as one of those contexts. In practice, the judgment about a student stays with you.

## The rule in ZeroTwo's Terms

In the section on AI services and generated content, the Terms say you are strictly prohibited from using any output concerning a natural person in a context that could materially or legally affect that person, including decisions about education. They also say output may be incomplete, incorrect or unreliable and that using it may require human oversight. This page is not legal advice: read the Terms at [zerotwo.ai/terms](https://zerotwo.ai/terms) (see [Where can I read the ZeroTwo Terms and Conditions?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/6837156-where-can-i-read-the-zerotwo-terms-and-conditions)) and your school's own policies before you rely on ZeroTwo for anything that touches a student's record.

## Ways to use ZeroTwo around assessment

These uses prepare material that you review. None of them hands ZeroTwo a decision about a particular student.

- Draft a rubric from your learning goals, then edit it until it says what you mean.
- Write practice questions, quiz drafts and answer keys. Check every answer key yourself.
- Build a bank of reusable feedback comments, each written for a common strength or error rather than for a named student.
- Explain a concept at several reading levels for re-teaching.
- Reword your own comments so they are clearer or more encouraging.

To keep every chat on the same criteria, put your rubric in a project's **Instructions** field, which holds up to 8,000 characters. See [How do projects work in ZeroTwo?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/10169521-how-do-projects-work-in-zerotwo) On the Free plan, the sidebar's **New project** opens an upgrade prompt. You can also set standing preferences in [Setting custom instructions in ZeroTwo](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/8096356-setting-custom-instructions-in-zerotwo).

## Keep a person in charge of the decision

- Read the work yourself and apply your own criteria. Do not paste a score or a verdict from ZeroTwo into a gradebook, a report or a referral.
- Treat any feedback ZeroTwo drafts as a starting point. Change what is wrong, and remove what you would not say yourself.
- Check facts in answer keys and model answers. See [Does ZeroTwo tell the truth?](https://help.zerotwo.ai/en/articles/8313428-does-zerotwo-tell-the-truth)

## Protect student information

ZeroTwo's Privacy Policy says you are responsible for making sure you have permission to upload or share any personal, confidential or regulated information, and that if you do not want certain information processed through ZeroTwo or third-party AI providers, you should not submit it. It adds that some providers or models may retain or use submitted content under their own policies. Leave student names, ID numbers and other identifying details out of what you paste in.

Memory can also carry details forward. In **Settings > Personalization > Memory**, the **Memory** switch controls it, and on paid plans ZeroTwo also learns from your chats. **Manage memories** shows what ZeroTwo has saved so you can correct or delete it.
