Does ZeroTwo tell the truth?

Not always: ZeroTwo's Terms say output can be wrong. Check answers with Web Search sources, Python, Deep Research or a second model before relying on them.

Updated: 20 hours ago

Not always. ZeroTwo's answers come from AI models, and its Terms say plainly that these models are not truth machines. An answer can be incomplete, incorrect or unreliable, and you are responsible for checking it before you rely on it. ZeroTwo gives you several ways to do that checking.

What the Terms say about accuracy

  • Output can misstate real people, places or facts, so you should not treat it as your only source of truth.
  • Accuracy depends on the model that produced the answer. ZeroTwo offers models from several providers, and the Terms say ZeroTwo does not control third-party models or the quality of what they produce.
  • Do not rely on output for critical decisions such as medical, legal or financial advice, and do not use output about a person in ways that could materially affect them. See How can I use ZeroTwo for assessment and feedback?

Tools that help you check an answer

ToolWhat it doesHow to use it
Web SearchLooks up pages on the web and answers from them. A Sources button appears with the answer, and selecting it opens the list of pages used.In Chat, open the + menu and choose Web Search. On a Chat reply you already have, open the Retry menu under it and choose Search the web.
PythonZeroTwo can run Python code in a sandbox for data analysis, statistics and charts. In Chat the step is headed Analyzed and shows its code and output, so you can read how a number was produced.Attach a file from + > Files and folders and ask for a specific calculation or chart. ZeroTwo decides when code is needed. See Analyzing spreadsheets and data files with ZeroTwo.
Deep ResearchProposes a research plan for you to approve, then researches and writes a report. Its built-in instructions call for cited sources: numbered footnotes and a Sources section in documents and PDFs, a Sources slide in presentations and a Sources tab in spreadsheets.Deep Research is a plugin. Type /deep-research in your message. See How does Deep Research work in ZeroTwo?
Switch modelRuns the same request again on another model so you can compare answers. In Chat, open the Retry menu under a reply, choose Switch model and pick a model.

Habits that catch mistakes

  1. Ask ZeroTwo to list its assumptions, or to say which claims it is least sure about.
  2. Open the sources behind a web answer and confirm that each page exists and says what the answer says it does.
  3. Check dates and quotations against a primary source. For numbers drawn from a file, ask ZeroTwo to work them out with code and read the code it ran.
  4. For anything that matters, compare a second model's answer.
  5. If an answer is wrong or harmful, tell ZeroTwo through Help > Send Feedback. See How do I report a problem or harmful content to ZeroTwo?
