ZeroTwo lets you set the general voice of its answers in one place. The setting is called Base style and tone, and it changes how ZeroTwo sounds, not what it is able to do.
Choose a base style and tone
- Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then choose Settings.
- Open Personalization and stay on the Companion tab.
- Open the Base style and tone menu and pick a style. Each option shows a short description.
The iPhone, iPad and Android apps have a Base style and tone setting under Personalization as well. The iPhone and iPad apps list all nine styles. The Android app lists the same styles except None. The choice is stored with your account, so it follows you between the web app, the desktop app and mobile.
The styles
| Style | Description in the menu |
|---|---|
| None | No specific style or tone |
| Default | Preset style and tone |
| Professional | Polished and precise |
| Friendly | Warm and chatty |
| Candid | Direct and encouraging |
| Quirky | Playful and imaginative |
| Efficient | Concise and plain |
| Nerdy | Exploratory and enthusiastic |
| Cynical | Critical and sarcastic |
If you want ZeroTwo to apply no particular voice, choose None. Default uses ZeroTwo's preset style and tone.
Name your companion
Just above the style menu is Companion's name. Type a name there if you want to give ZeroTwo a name that feels more personal. The field suggests "ZeroTwo" as an example.
Go beyond a preset
The nine styles are fixed presets. ZeroTwo does not offer separate sliders for traits such as warmth or enthusiasm. For finer control, use these settings on the same tab:
- Custom instructions for your own wording, such as "keep answers under five sentences". See Setting custom instructions in ZeroTwo.
- Writing style, a switch that has ZeroTwo write in your voice by referencing examples from your connected apps. Turning it on opens its setup.
- Remove static instructions, which strips ZeroTwo's tool instructions and rules from the system prompt for a more natural, personalized chat.
Details about you, such as your preferred name and occupation, live on the Profile tab of the same page.
