The Data Analytics plugin helps you answer product and business questions with data. Give it a spreadsheet, query results or connected sources, and it can analyze the numbers, explain what changed, and turn the findings into reports, dashboards, charts and notebooks.
Install it and start
- Open Customize in the rail, select Plugins, search for "Data Analytics", open it and select Install. Add, use and manage plugins in ZeroTwo covers the plugin screens in detail.
- Tag the plugin in your message: type @ and choose Data Analytics under Plugins, or open the composer's + menu (its tooltip reads "Add files & more") and choose it under Plugins.
- Describe the question and give ZeroTwo something to work with.
The plugin offers three starter prompts: "Help me get started with my first data task," "Analyze product or business data and recommend where to focus next," and "Diagnose why a key metric changed and identify the biggest drivers."
You do not have to tag the plugin every time. Its main workflow is written to pick up requests about data, metrics, trends, KPIs, dashboards, reports, charts, SQL, notebooks and spreadsheets whether or not you tag it, and to leave general writing, editing and coding alone.
What data can it use?
Start with whatever you have: an uploaded spreadsheet, CSV or TSV, pasted query results or schema descriptions, or business context you type in. If you have no data yet, the plugin can use clearly labeled sample data to show you how it works.
The plugin can also use these connectors if you have connected them. All of them are optional, and you connect them in Customize > Connectors.
| Kind of source | Connectors |
|---|---|
| Data warehouse | BigQuery |
| Product analytics and BI | Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog, Statsig, ThoughtSpot |
| Notebooks | Hex, Deepnote |
| Documents and code | Google Drive, SharePoint & OneDrive, Notion, GitHub |
| Chat and email | Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Outlook Email |
| Calendar | Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar |
For data in a warehouse that is not in this list, export the results as a file or paste them into the chat.
What you can ask for
| You want to... | You could say |
|---|---|
| Decide where to focus | "Look at our signup funnel and tell me which step to improve first." |
| Find out why a number moved | "Why did weekly active users fall last week?" |
| Define success metrics | "Propose KPIs, guardrails and targets for the new onboarding flow." |
| Report on a period | "Turn this month's numbers into a short update for leadership." |
| Monitor something | "Build a dashboard for activation, retention and conversion." |
| Size an opportunity | "Estimate the market for this product and show every assumption." |
| Write up findings | "Create a report on the biggest drivers of growth this quarter." |
| Keep a reproducible record | "Build a notebook for this experiment readout." |
| Check your work | "Review this analysis for methodology and calculation errors." |
| Test whether data is reliable | "Is this table trustworthy enough for a retention analysis?" |
| Save your preferences | "Remember our metric definitions and chart style for future reports." |
Share, export and keep results fresh
- Export. Ask for a finished report or dashboard as a Word document or Google Doc, as a PowerPoint or Google Slides deck, or as a PDF.
- Publish. In web and cloud tasks the plugin publishes a report or dashboard to ZeroTwo Sites automatically; in local desktop tasks it previews the app on localhost instead. You can name a different destination, or ask for files only and no publishing, and the plugin follows that. It reports success only after it has verified the deployment and the site's address; if publishing fails, you get downloadable files and the reason.
- Check who can see it. Each site's Share dialog lets you choose Only you or Anyone with the link.
- Refresh. Ask ZeroTwo to keep a dashboard or report up to date and it can set up a recurring cloud refresh job.
- Share a summary. The plugin can prepare a short summary of a dashboard, report or chart. Preparing a summary does not send it anywhere.
The Ask, export, publish and refresh controls inside a published report only open a copyable request for your current ZeroTwo task. They do not send, publish or schedule anything. Paste the request into your chat to have ZeroTwo carry it out.
