Connectors let ZeroTwo work with apps you already use, such as Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, GitHub and Outlook. A connector links an account in one of those apps to your ZeroTwo account. You choose which apps to connect, and you can disconnect an app you connected at any time.
Connectors, plugins and MCP servers
These three words show up side by side in Customize, so it helps to know how they differ.
| Item | What it is | Where you manage it |
|---|---|---|
| Connector | A link between your ZeroTwo account and an app, such as Gmail or GitHub. | Customize > Connectors |
| Plugin | A bundle that can include skills, commands, agents, connectors and MCP servers. | Customize > Plugins |
| Custom MCP server | A server you add yourself. One saved to your account appears among your connectors and is marked "Custom" on its page. In the desktop app, a server at a private address runs on your computer and is listed under MCPs instead. | Customize > Connectors, or Settings > Plugins > MCPs in the desktop app (see Add your own MCP server) |
Find the connector catalog
Select Customize in the left rail, then Connectors. The page is headed "Connectors" and reads "Connect ZeroTwo to your favorite apps and services".
- Installed sits at the top and shows one icon for each app you have connected. Until you connect something it says "No connectors installed yet — explore the catalog below."
- Below that, the catalog is grouped by category, for example Productivity, Developer Tools, Data & Analytics and Business & Operations.
- Type in Search connectors to filter the catalog by name or description. While you search, the page shows one list of matches, with a check mark beside the apps you have already connected.
You can also open Settings > Plugins and choose the Connectors tab to see everything you have connected in one list.
Connect an app
- Open Customize > Connectors.
- Find the app and select Connect on its card.
- Continue based on what ZeroTwo shows:
- Apps that sign in through their own page open a dialog titled "Use app name in ZeroTwo". It explains what the app can see (see Your data below). Select Connect to go to the app's sign-in and permission page.
- Some apps open a form titled "Connect app name" that asks for an API key or similar details. Fill it in and select Connect.
- A few apps need no sign-in. ZeroTwo connects them straight away and confirms with "Connected to app name".
- When the connection succeeds, the app moves into Installed.
For apps such as GitHub, Notion, Gmail and Outlook, the web app takes your browser tab to the app's sign-in page and returns to ZeroTwo when you finish. In the desktop app, the sign-in page opens in your default browser and sends you back to ZeroTwo.
Use a connected app in a chat
Ask for what you need, for example "List my open pull requests" with GitHub connected. In Work and Code, ZeroTwo can use your connected apps without any extra step. In Chat, ZeroTwo handles a message that needs tools, such as a connected app, as an agent task.
To make sure ZeroTwo uses a particular app, mention it by typing @ and the app's name in your message, for example "@GitHub List my open pull requests". Plugins you have installed and enabled are listed under Plugins in the + menu.
To pause an app without disconnecting it, go to Settings > Plugins > Connectors and turn off the switch next to it.
Manage a connected app
Select an app under Installed to open its page. From there you can choose what ZeroTwo may do with each of the app's tools, refresh the tool list, and disconnect. A warning triangle on an icon means the connection needs attention: open the app and select Connect to sign in again. For a custom MCP server, that button reads Edit instead.
Where connectors are available
Customize and its Connectors page are part of the web app and the desktop app. The ZeroTwo apps for iOS and Android also have connector screens with tool permissions and disconnect controls.
Your data
Before you connect an app that signs in through its own page, the "Use app name in ZeroTwo" dialog tells you what the app receives: basic information typically shared when you visit a website, such as your IP address and approximate location, and a summary of your recent context and intent within ZeroTwo. The same dialog has a "Reference memories and chats" switch, which lets ZeroTwo reference relevant chats and memories when sharing data with the app. It starts switched off.
ZeroTwo reads from a connected app to carry out the request you make. The privacy policy states that ZeroTwo does not use data from Google Workspace APIs or from connected third-party integrations to train generalized AI or machine learning models.
