How does phone sign-in work in ZeroTwo?

Sign in to ZeroTwo with a six-digit text-message code: what to enter, what to do if the code does not arrive, and where phone sign-in works.

Updated: 20 hours ago

Phone sign-in lets you sign in with a six-digit code sent by text message instead of an emailed link. It is on the sign-in screen of the ZeroTwo web app, the desktop app, and the apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Sign in with your phone number

  1. On the sign-in screen, choose Continue with phone.
  2. Enter your number. On the web, the desktop app and Android you can change the country code that goes in front of the number. On iPhone and iPad the country code is fixed at +1, so only +1 numbers can be used there.
  3. On the web and the desktop app, complete the CAPTCHA check that appears once the number is complete. Then choose Continue. ZeroTwo texts you a six-digit code.
  4. Type the code on the next screen and choose Verify. The web and iPhone and iPad screens tell you the code expires in 60 seconds, so enter it promptly.

On the web, the desktop app and iPhone and iPad, the code screen also reminds you that a new account is created automatically when you verify.

If the code does not arrive

  • Choose Resend code. After a send, the button counts down before it works again: the web, desktop and iPhone and iPad screens show "Resend in" with a number of seconds, and Android shows "Try again in". On the web and the desktop app, Resend also needs a fresh CAPTCHA check.
  • Check the number. ZeroTwo will not send a code until the number is complete, and if the number is rejected it asks you to check the country code and phone number.
  • Choose Use a different phone number (Use a different number on Android) to go back and enter another number.
  • If ZeroTwo says there have been too many requests, wait before trying again or use another sign-in method.
  • If ZeroTwo says SMS sign-in is not available for your number's destination, use email or another sign-in method instead.

Where phone sign-in is available

You can use phone sign-in on the web, in the desktop app, and in the iPhone, iPad and Android apps. The browser extension says phone sign-in is not available there yet and points you to email or a social provider.
