You can delete a chat from the sidebar or from the chat itself. Deleting is permanent and happens immediately: ZeroTwo does not ask you to confirm. If you might want the chat again, archive it instead.
Delete a chat from the sidebar
- Open the sidebar: swipe in from the left edge of the screen, or tap the sidebar button at the top left of a chat.
- Find the chat under Recents or Pinned.
- Touch and hold the chat to open its menu.
- Tap Delete, which is shown in red.
Delete the chat you have open
- Tap the three-dot button at the top right of the chat.
- Tap Delete, which is shown in red.
ZeroTwo then starts a new chat.
Delete a chat inside a project
Chats that belong to a project are listed on the project's page, not under Recents. Touch and hold the chat there and tap Delete. The entry appears only when you can edit the project.
Archive instead
The same menus have Archive, which takes a chat out of your lists without deleting it. An "Archived chat" notice appears at the top of the screen for about eight seconds, with View and Undo.
To come back to archived chats later, open Settings, then Data controls, then Archived chats. Tap Restore to bring a chat back. The red trash icon beside it asks "Permanently delete this chat?" and deletes it when you choose Delete permanently.
Delete every chat
In Settings and then Data controls, tap Delete all chats. An alert says this permanently deletes all your conversations, leaves your projects, files and other data in place, and cannot be undone. Choose Delete to go ahead. Clear all data, just below, removes much more than chats.
If a delete fails
ZeroTwo shows "Failed to delete chat. Please try again." and keeps the chat in your list.
For the web and desktop apps, see How do I archive or delete chats in ZeroTwo? To learn what happens to your data afterwards, read How ZeroTwo keeps and deletes your chats and files.
