ZeroTwo has a desktop app for Mac. It comes as a .dmg disk image built for Apple Silicon. ZeroTwo does not offer a build for Intel Macs. The other requirements are in What do I need to run the ZeroTwo Mac app?
Download the app
- Open zerotwo.ai/download. In the ZeroTwo web app you can also use the Get apps button (a monitor icon) in the sidebar footer and choose Get Desktop App; it opens the same page. The desktop app itself does not show that button.
- Under Download ZeroTwo for desktop, open the macOS menu and choose Apple Silicon · .dmg. The file is named
ZeroTwo-macOS-Apple-Silicon.dmg. - Open the downloaded
.dmgfile and install ZeroTwo the way you install any other Mac app. - Start ZeroTwo and sign in.
Sign in on the Mac app
The Mac app uses your ordinary ZeroTwo account, so your chats are the same ones you see on the web. If you choose Continue with Google, Continue with Apple or Continue with Microsoft, ZeroTwo opens your default browser to finish signing in and then hands you back to the app.
Keep the app up to date
ZeroTwo checks for a new version when it starts, and again every 15 minutes while it stays open and no update is waiting. Updates are not downloaded on their own:
- When a new version is found, a round download button appears in the sidebar footer. Its tooltip reads Download update. Select it to download the update; while it downloads, the button shows the progress as a percentage.
- When the download finishes, the tooltip changes to Restart to install. Select the button to restart ZeroTwo and install the update.
To check on demand, choose Check for Updates… from the ZeroTwo menu in the menu bar, or open Settings, go to General and use Check for updates under About. The same section shows the version you have installed.
Other desktop downloads
The download page also lists a Windows installer for x64 PCs and, for Linux, an AppImage and a Debian/Ubuntu .deb, both for x64. See the Windows app collection for Windows help.
