The ZeroTwo Mac app runs on Macs with an Apple Silicon chip. There is no build for Intel Macs. ZeroTwo's download page and app configuration do not state a minimum macOS version for the app, so there is no version number to check your system against.
What the app needs
- An Apple Silicon Mac. The download is a single
.dmgbuilt for Apple Silicon. - A ZeroTwo account. You sign in with the same account you use on the web, and your chats come with it.
- An internet connection. The app signs you in and loads your account and chats from ZeroTwo's servers.

Permissions some features ask for
A few desktop features rely on permissions that macOS controls, and you grant them in System Settings:
- Microphone. Voice chat and dictation use your microphone, and Settings > Voice has a Microphone row where you choose which one.
- Screen Recording. Attach appshot in the composer captures a window or screen as an image. ZeroTwo tells you to grant Screen Recording permission to ZeroTwo in System Settings to capture other screens and windows.
- Accessibility. Computer history, which turns your computer activity into private summaries kept on the Mac, says Accessibility permission is required. The first time ZeroTwo asks to control other apps on your computer (computer use), it triggers the macOS Accessibility and Screen Recording prompts.
Computer history is available on macOS only. Its settings are under Settings > Computer history in the desktop app. Computer use and Computer history rely on a helper that ships inside the app and is built for macOS 13 or later.
If the app will not install or open
Check first that you downloaded the Apple Silicon file from the download page. If it still will not run, see How do I contact ZeroTwo support? and tell the team which Mac and macOS version you have.
