Can I share my ZeroTwo account with someone else?

Keep your sign-in to yourself. See what a shared sign-in exposes, how to give each person their own access, and how to lock things down if you shared it.

You should not. ZeroTwo's Terms make you responsible for safeguarding the password you use to access the service and for any activity under it, and they say you agree not to disclose it to anyone else. The sign-in page on the web offers Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, Continue with Microsoft and Continue with phone, or an email address, and it does not ask you for a password. So the practical way to follow that rule is to keep private whichever sign-in method you use: your Google, Apple or Microsoft account, your phone, or your email inbox.

What someone gets when they sign in as you

A shared sign-in is not limited to one chat. Whoever is signed in to your account can reach everything the account holds:

  • Your chats, projects and files, and the memories ZeroTwo has saved for you.
  • The apps you connected, such as Google Drive or Slack, because ZeroTwo reaches them through your account.
  • Your plan and billing details in Settings > Billing.
  • The controls in Settings > Data Controls, including Delete all chats and Delete account.

Give each person their own way in

  • You, on several devices. You do not need to share anything: sign in to the same account on the web, in the desktop app, or on iPhone, iPad and Android. Your plan comes with you. See Can I use my ZeroTwo plan on another device?
  • A teen. Parental controls link a parent's account to a teen's account so the parent can switch off memory, voice mode or image generation and set quiet hours, with no shared sign-in. See How do parental controls work in ZeroTwo?
  • A team. ZeroTwo Business gives a team 4,000 monthly credits per seat, pooled across the workspace. A workspace admin adds people from Workspace Settings > Members > Invite member, so each person signs in as themselves. To ask about it, see How do I contact the ZeroTwo sales team?
  • Shared work. To work on the same material with someone, share a project and choose a role for each person (Can view, Can edit or Admin), or send a link to a single chat. People who open a shared chat link must be signed in to their own ZeroTwo account. See How do projects work in ZeroTwo? and How do I share a ZeroTwo chat or message?

If you have already shared your sign-in

These steps use the web and desktop apps.

  1. Open Settings > Security and, next to Log out of all devices, select Log out all. This ends every active session, including the one you are using. Other devices can take up to 30 minutes to be logged out. See How do I log out of ZeroTwo on all of my devices?
  2. Secure the account behind your sign-in. If the other person can open your Google, Apple or Microsoft account, your phone or your inbox, they can sign in to ZeroTwo again, so change that access with the company that runs it.
  3. Turn on Two-factor authentication on the same Security tab. Signing in then also needs a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. See How do I turn two-factor authentication on or off in ZeroTwo?
  4. Open Settings > Data Controls and select Manage next to Shared Links to review and delete links to chats, images or files.

The Terms also ask you to notify ZeroTwo immediately if you learn of a security breach or unauthorized use of your account. Select the question-mark button Help and what's new at the bottom of the sidebar, open Help and choose Support, or follow What should I do if I notice suspicious activity on my account?. Reaching ZeroTwo is covered in How do I contact ZeroTwo support?
