When you choose Continue with Google in ZeroTwo for iOS, the app opens Google's sign-in page in a sheet over the app. If that page says cookies are disabled, the message comes from Google's page, not from ZeroTwo: the ZeroTwo sign-in screens have no message about cookies. You can check your iPhone's cookie settings or sign in another way.
Why it happens
ZeroTwo opens the sheet with the standard web sign-in session that iOS provides for apps, and it does not make that session private. A session that is not private shares cookies with Safari, so Safari's cookie settings are the first thing to check.
Allow cookies and try again
- Close the sign-in sheet. ZeroTwo returns you to the sign-in screen without an error.
- In your iPhone's Safari settings, turn off any option that blocks cookies.
- Go back to ZeroTwo and choose Continue with Google again.
If the sign-in fails instead of being closed by you, ZeroTwo shows Failed to connect with Google. Please try again. Try again after changing the setting.
Sign in another way instead
You do not need Google to get in. The same screen offers these options:
- Continue with Apple or Continue with Microsoft. They open the same kind of sign-in sheet, so if cookies are the problem, try email or phone first.
- Email address. Type your email address and choose Continue. ZeroTwo sends a magic link, and the screen says the link expires in 1 hour.
- Continue with phone. ZeroTwo texts a 6-digit code, and the screen says the code expires in 60 seconds.
Use the email address or phone number you used when you set up your account: a new one creates a new account. See Can I change how I sign in to ZeroTwo?
